News from Candice
Hello families!
Welcome back to school and the last three weeks of semester one! I hope you all enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family. I was able to get some snowboarding in, as well as some rest and relaxation!
One Book One District Contest Winner - Our 3rd through 6th graders participated in a School District wide bookmark contest for our One Book One District book, Whale Fall. One of our very own got first place for Highlands Ranch elementary feeder schools! Congratulations to Marley Gotaas!! Her bookmarks will be available in our library. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Crosswalks - For the safety of our families and students, please use one of the two crosswalks before and after school—either at Windridge (at the end of the bus lane) or at Poston. It may take a little extra time to walk there, but it is worth it to model safe crossing habits for our kids and to keep everyone safe. I’ve noticed many people crossing at the entrance of the bus loop on Windridge, which can be very dangerous due to the heavy car traffic in that area. Please avoid crossing there. Additionally, remember to stop at all crosswalks and ensure that the crossing guard has signaled you to proceed before moving forward. This has been an issue on Poston, so our SRO, Deputy Seely, will be more present during drop-off and pick-up times to help address this concern. Thank you for slowing down and helping to keep everyone safe in our neighborhood!
Wish Week 2025 - We are so excited for MVHS Wish Week 2025! Our CME fundraising goal this year is to grant one wish which is $7000. Wish Week will be February 3-7, 2025!!! The elementary school that raises the most money will win tickets for Elitch Gardens! Let's go Cougars!!
