News From Candice!
Hello Amazing Copper Mesa Community! It has been so great to see you all in the building this week for Parent Teacher Conferences. Copper Mesa has such a positive buzz when you are all here! Thank you to all the families who have sent in conference goodies to keep us all going this week. We are all so grateful!
Dragon Eyes - I got to sit in on a 6th grade art class this week. They were creating Dragon Eyes out of clay. They are all unique and beautiful, and I can’t wait to see the finished product (the pic below shows their progress - I’ll send more when they are done). Thanks to Ms. Burke for going to a session during our professional development day to learn how to use the kiln! The kids are so excited!!
CMAS - This is a reminder that our state testing (CMAS - Colorado Measures for Academic Success) is coming up next month. Here is our building schedule so you can make sure that our students are here on time for testing. It is so important for our school to show all the amazing work we have done over the school year. This data provides us with feedback around areas of strength and need so that our teachers can adjust their instruction. Also, we have consistently been performing so well at CME, and we just want to get better each year showing our community that we are a great place of learning! Last year, we exceeded expectations in both academic achievement and growth. Let’s keep the momentum going up! If you have any questions about state testing, please reach out to Ms. Andersen - [email protected].
