News from Candice
Happy Thursday to you all! It has been a wonderful week here at Copper Mesa. Our kids and teachers have been hard at work. On Friday, Ms. Andersen and I will be supporting teachers in some work around their grade level standards. We hope you will enjoy the extra day with your kiddos!
Donuts with Grownups - Swing by and enjoy delicious, freshly baked donuts and have a chat with fellow CME families before the first bell rings. It’s on Monday, October 4th at 8:00. Thank you to our PTO for putting this fun event on! You can sign up by going to their most recent newsletter. We hope to see you all there!
Lockdown Drill - Wednesday we performed our first lockdown drill of the year. We will have one more in the spring. These drills are conducted with law enforcement and district security. We are able to ask questions and get feedback on our process so that we are always prepared. Unfortunately, this is one of those things we wish we didn’t have to do, but we want to do anything that we can to be prepared in the event of an emergency. These drills can be scary for our kiddos, so please let us know if you need more support in talking to your child about this.
Parent Teacher Conferences - Conferences are coming up quite quickly! They will be on the week of October 7th. Look for a blast to sign up for a time with your student’s teacher late next week. Our teachers hope to see you all for this important home-school connection.

BASE IS HIRING -
Do you know any high schoolers looking for a job for after school and during breaks? This is an awesome opportunity! One of the great things about working for BASE is we close at 6, so no late night hours, and no weekends! I've included our two job postings below. Let me know if you have any neighbors or friends or kids who might be interested in working with us!
