iReady Motivation - We are beginning our iReady Math Motivation this week! Our students have access to online personalized lessons that are designed to provide instruction at their level. This is meant to fill in math gaps or extend their learning if they are already at grade level. Ready Math tells us that the schools that perform the highest are schools that give students 30-45 minutes per week to work on these types of lessons. To encourage students to achieve their time, we do a weekly contest to see which classes can get the highest percentage of students to complete their minutes. The prizes include popsicle parties and extra Specials activities (thanks to Ms. Muller, Mr. Novak, and Ms. Burke for their support)!
CMAS 23/24 - So…we really rocked it last year on our CMAS data! Copper Mesa students “Exceeded Expectations” (color coded blue) for both GROWTH and ACHIEVEMENT in Math AND English Language Arts! We also “Exceeded Expectations” in achievement in Science (they don’t look at growth in Science because it's only given in 5th grade). We are so proud of our students and staff for a job well done! On Friday, we had a Blue Party to celebrate with our staff (see photos below)! Green is good, but Blue is BETTER!
SAC Meeting - On Monday we have a School Accountability meeting at 4:00 in the library. Anyone is welcome to join us. We will be talking about our CMAS data, our goals, the bond, and our Universal Improvement Plan that we will submit to CDE. Hope to see some new faces!
Boosterthon - We will have our fall fundraiser coming up after Fall Break. The Boosterthon Event this year will be a Glo Dance Party on Oct. 30. Look for communication next week from our PTO to provide more details! We would like to ask for some donations of some inflatable costumes. If you have one sitting around in your costume box at home, we would love to borrow it!
Strategic Planning DCSD - The Douglas County School District is beginning a new strategic planning process. Help us make sure that the voice of our school’s families is included in conversations about what we want our school district to look like in the next 5 years, 10 years and beyond. Your voice is critical in determining how we can best prepare our students for successful futures so they can lead the way in a world that is quickly evolving in terms of jobs and technology. Please attend an upcoming meeting to learn more and to provide your voice to this important conversation. Click here for a list of meeting dates, times and location and for an RSVP link. Dinner will be provided at the evening sessions.
