Dear Copper Mesa Community,

There is only a week remaining until our winter break. I bet Amazon, UPS, and the other delivery companies are busy this time of year!!

CHOIR CONCERT

Our choir concert is this evening. As hard as they have been practicing, I am sure it will be wonderful!! Even if you don’t have a kiddo in choir feel free to come to CME at 6:00 pm this evening. Our choir will also be performing for our school tomorrow at 9:00 am. A huge shout out to Abby Muller for being our choir director!

LOOK FOR THE GOOD

Yesterday, we concluded our daily messages for the Look for the Good Project. I have loved listening to our Student Leadership Council representatives share positive messages about gratitude each morning. Both of our Gratitude Walls are now filled, but we will keep them up until winter break for those students who would like to add more Post-it notes and for everyone to read.

WATCH DOG DADS

I have a New Year’s Resolution challenge for all of our dads - sign up at least one day next semester to be a Watch Dog Dad!! It is a great opportunity to help out in your kiddos' classroom, on the playground, in the cafeteria, and be another set of eyes in our school. Check out our CMEA newsletter to sign up!!

FIELD TRIPS

Thank you to our awesome CMEA group and our parent community for providing the entrance fees for the various field trips our students have participated in this first semester. We have had students attend plays, visit the aquarium, have fun at a pumpkin patch, and even listen to a drum concert. They have always returned excited about their trip. Look for more field trips this second semester. What a wonderful educational experience for our students!!

KIDSTAGE -

Winter session for KidStage will be OZ!! To sign up, please see the flyer for more details. This will be a lot of fun!

TALENT SHOW -

Our school wide Talent Show is approaching! We want to get information out to families early so that students can start preparing for their auditions.

Auditions: Monday & Tuesday February 5th and 6th from 3:45-5:00. They will be held in the music room. Auditions will be for the following participants:

Performers
MCs (a script will be given at the audition)
Stage Crew (sign-up audition only)

Audition Expectations: Students need to present completed acts that are performance ready. Any props, music and costumes need to be ready and present at the time of their audition.

Audition Results: Results will be announced through individual letters on February 9th at the end of the school day. We have limited spots available.

Dress Rehearsals: February 21st and 28th from 3:45-5:00 (both days). Students in the talent show will need to bring all prompts and costumes to both dress rehearsals.

School Performance: March 7th from 2:00-3:00

Evening Performance: March 7th from 6:00-7:00 (students arrive at 5:30, ready to go, in the music room).

KINDIE REGISTRATION -

Kindergarten registration will be open on November 27th! You can go to the dcsdk12.org website. A to Z on the right hand side and go down to K for Kindergarten Registration. Go down till you see the green bar (Current DCSD family) or the yellow bar (new to DCSD) and follow the prompts! You will need a copy of your student’s birth certificate, immunizations and a proof of residency (if new to DCSD). Please call Michelle Rank with any questions or email at [email protected].
