Dear Copper Mesa Community,
I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and enjoyed the extra two days we had off. Several students have shared the fun things they did over break with me these last few days. My wife and I took our fifth wheel out for the first time this season and had a wonderful time walking, biking, and reading our books at Cherry Creek State Park.
This week I will mention the following:
SNOW REMOVAL
While most of us were home enjoying our Spring Break, Mr. Ryan, our Building Engineer, was busy clearing snow so that our BASE students could come to school. Not only was Mr. Ryan clearing the snow, but he was also breaking the ice in areas where the sun didn’t shine! After a snowfall, you can also find Mr. Ryan out on our turf, clearing the snow so our students can play. Way to go Mr. Ryan!
CONFERENCES
Thank you to all of you who were able to attend your parent/teacher conference. Several of you shared that the time spent with your kiddos' teacher was very productive and appreciated! Unfortunately, the conferences that were scheduled for Thursday or Friday needed to be rescheduled because of the snow days. If you haven’t heard yet from your teacher(s) please reach out to them to reschedule.

APPLE AWARDS
This Saturday Miriam Osowski and Megan Conte will represent Copper Mesa at the annual Apple Awards reception. This is one of my favorite events of the year as our district recognizes amazing certified and classified staff from all of our schools and our district office personnel. Miriam and Megan are so deserving of this award and I look forward to celebrating and honoring them on Saturday.
STUDENT ARTWORK
I always love walking by the walls of my office as our art teacher, Jennifer Tauro is awesome about displaying student artwork around our school. Some photos are included along with some pictures from the sixth-grade artwork that is displayed at Garden of the Gods. Several of our families have visited - and have shared with Mrs. Tauro how awesome it is to see them displayed. Copper Mesa is given a huge shout-out in their flyers. I am so proud of our sixth graders and Mrs. Tauro as well as all of our artists at CME!!
CMAS
It is that time of year again - CMAS will begin next week for our third through sixth graders. I have loved seeing positive posters being displayed to encourage our students to do their best. Please encourage your third through sixth graders to eat a healthy breakfast each day and to get a good night's rest.
Happy Easter!!
