News from Steve

Dear Copper Mesa Community,

After an amazing Fall, it looks like Winter is on the way. I’ve been busy raking leaves the last several evenings!

Our PRIDE Skill for next week is: Growth Mindset

This week I will mention the following:

  • Halloween Parade/Parties

  • DCSD Toiletry Drive

  • Veteran’s Day

  • All Pro Dads

  • Kindie Registration

  • Apple Awards

HALLOWEEN PARADE/PARTIES

The weather for Tuesday, October 31st is showing that we will be able to have our annual Halloween Parade outside. It will begin at approximately 9:00 am and we will walk on the playground as well as the front of the school before heading inside for our parties. Students can come to school in their school-appropriate costumes, with no real or fake blood, or real or fake weapons, and they must be able to clearly see if they are wearing a mask. Classrooms will have their parties after the parade, and then our students will change into regular school clothes for the remainder of the day.

We are always so thankful for any leftover Halloween candy you can donate to our school for our staff. Our staff loves the treats during the day!!

DCSD TOILETRY DRIVE

Check out this flyer for information about our school district's toiletry drive. Caring for others is a major theme of our district, One Book, One District Selection, Becoming a Good Creature. Our Student Leadership Team will be organizing the supplies you donate! Collections will continue until November 16th.

VETERANS DAY

To all of you who have served our country or are currently serving in the armed forces, we would love to have you join us for lunch on Friday, November 10th. This is a small way we can say thank you for your service. Our sixth graders will be singing some patriotic songs and we will have you introduce yourselves. Invite any Veteran you know to lunch!! This event is definitely one of the highlights of my year!

ALL PRO DADS

Another event that I love hosting is our All Pro Dads gatherings. Our first one of the year will be on Friday, November 17th beginning at 7:30 am in our cafeteria!! I am still looking for dads to help prepare breakfast. Email me at [email protected] if you are able to help.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

No way, I can’t be talking about kindergarten registration already. But yes, it is true - kindergarten registration will be from November 27th through December 1st. Kindie registration will be available online starting November 27th. If you know of any new families that would like a tour of CME, just have them email me as I love showing parents around our school.
