News from Steve

Dear Copper Mesa Community,

I hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl last weekend, no matter if your team won or not, you must admit that it was a good game! I am heading to Texas for this long weekend to visit my dad.

Our PRIDE Skill next week is: Empathetic

This week I will mention the following:

  • Valentine’s Day

  • Kindergarten

  • Playground Equipment

  • Wish Week/American Heart Association

VALENTINE’S DAY

What a special day at school yesterday. From the very creative Valentine’s boxes to the amazing treats that were provided for our staff to the parties happening in classrooms, it was a wonderful day. It was so cool to see so many hearts with heartfelt messages written by our students to various staff members! Hopefully, the wonderful feeling of love continued throughout the evening in your households!

KINDERGARTEN

On Monday I had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs.O’s class in the library while Mrs.Troxel attended a meeting. I have always been so impressed with our Kindie teachers and having taught the students for thirty minutes, I have a whole new appreciation!! I had to chuckle after I asked a question and every student wanted to then share a story. We did finish the story that I was asked to read!

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT

This week we had our CMEA meeting. This was an awesome meeting as we approved a bunch of staff grants. We also discussed adding a new piece of playground equipment this summer as our Infinity Circle was removed earlier this year for safety reasons. CMEA narrowed down the choices to three and then our leadership team narrowed it down to two. I then had the opportunity to gather feedback from our second and fifth graders. I know our students will be excited about the new piece of equipment! This all wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our CME community!!! Thank you also to our amazing CMEA group!

WISH WEEK/AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

Wish Week has concluded, and I just heard that we raised $212,000 as a Vista Feeder which will grant 28 wishes!! The American Heart Association challenge is continuing. We are close to having Mr. Novak become a human disco ball with glitter slime!!

Enjoy the extra time with your children this long weekend!!
